Turning off Auto-Apply Recommendations (AAR) with Google Ads is tricky for the uninitiated. Most people probably do this from the Google Ads web interface. Here are the steps for that.

Step 1 – Click Campaigns > Recommendations Step 2 – Above the recommendation cards
click Auto-apply (clock icon) Step 3 – On the auto-apply page
click Manage Step 4 – Uncheck all the checkboxes or deselect all using the button to opt out of auto-apply recommendations
